Crockpot Caramel Apple Squash

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs butternut squash cubed
  • 1 large apple diced
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar (omit for Whole30)
  • 2 tbsp grass-fed butter or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • dash salt
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients, except for raisins, in your crockpot.  
  • Give it a good stir, and set to cook for 6 hours on low.
  • At the 5-hour mark, stir in the raisins.  This step is optional, but adds another dimension of sweetness and gives the dish its rich, brown color.
  • Serve warm, topped with chopped pecans if you like 'em!
