Sweet Potatoes roasted with a cinnamon chili flavor

Cinnamon Chili Roasted Sweet Potatoes

These perfectly spiced, roasted to tender crispy perfection sweet potatoes are a go to side dish for us, and also a building block to so many meals. I can't wait for you to put this dish into your rotation!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (about 3 large) Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt plus more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • Chopped Parsley or Chives (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Dice the sweet potatoes into evenly sized 1/2" cubes. Add to the baking sheet and drizzle with avocado oil and sprinkle with spices. Toss to coat, then arrange in a single layer (use two baking sheets if needed).
  • Transfer to the oven and roast for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping once around the 25 minute mark. You'll know they're done when the edges are crisp and insides are soft and tender.
  • Remove from the oven and season with an extra pinch of salt, or to your taste. Serve hot, and store any leftovers in the fridge.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easy, non-stick cleanup
  • Dark colored baking sheets give the best crispiness & color when roasting (even through the parchment!)
  • Thoroughly wash & scrub your potatoes before cutting, but make sure they're patted completely dry so they will get crispy
  • Use whatever spice blend you like - this is our favorite sweet & savory blend that goes with everything!
